Support Group Workshops and
Information Programme 2021

Our Support Group Workshops and Information programme for 2021 is here! The programme will be delivered virtually via Zoom until further notice, meaning you can attend the sessions most convenient for you.

When we are able to meet in person again, we will resume support groups in specific venues – and you are welcome to attend the support group of your choosing. 

Due to the nature of Zoom, support group sessions work best if we have a limit of 15 people attending, so please let us know which sessions you would like to come to. Don’t worry if you can’t make January’s First Aid session, for example, you can attend in another month.

There will be a variety of topics:

Understanding Stress, Depression and Anxiety: Supporting you to look at ways to help yourself or the person you care for.

Introduction to Mindfulness: Using the popular wellbeing technique, learn how to relax, live in the here and now and reduce the impact of everyday stress.

Five Ways to Wellbeing: An overview of the Five Ways to Wellbeing approach to a happier, healthier life.

Technology and You: See a demonstration on assistive technology designed to help promote independence.

Lasting Power of Attorney: Your questions answered in this solicitor-led session looking at Lasting Power of Attorney, Wills and Trusts.

First Aid: Everyday first aid tips and how to access support, delivered by the British Red Cross.

Emergency Planning: Who will look after the person you care for if something happens to you? Guidance and discussion around planning for an emergency.

Infection Detection and Dehydration: Spotting the early signs of infection in yourself and the person you care for and understanding the importance of hydration.
