IMPORTANT PLEASE READ

In March, Buckinghamshire Council started a tender process for the statutory review of the provision of a Buckinghamshire Carers Support Service. Carers Bucks did not submit a bid for this new contract. This was a significant and carefully considered decision taken by our Board.

For over 20 years, Carers Bucks have been proud to stand alongside and serve carers across Buckinghamshire, building trusted, local support that so many people rely on. Our decision does not alter our commitment. For now, we continue to deliver our current services through to the end of June, and carers can access support in all the usual ways.

If you need help, please reach out – the team is here as it always has been.

We understand that this process brings change and uncertainty, and we recognise the impact this may have on you. Supporting you through this transition and ensuring continuity of care is very important to us.

The Council has confirmed that, subject to the usual contractual processes and a mandatory standstill period, Mobilise Ltd, a private company, has been appointed as the new provider of the commissioned carers service from 1st July. Some of you may know them through their existing digital services. We will work closely with them to ensure a smooth and seamless transition.

This is also a significant moment for our team of employees and volunteers. Alongside carers, they have always been the heart of everything we do, and their dedication to carers has never wavered. We are immensely proud of each of them. They will transfer to the new provider and form the delivery backbone of the new service, helping maintain continuity.

What this means for the future of Carers Bucks is still to be confirmed. This contract has been a significant part of our work and we are exceedingly proud of the legacy and team we hand to the new provider. The Board will confirm in good time exactly how we will deliver the greatest impact for carers in Bucks beyond 30th June.

We will share further updates on both the contract transition and the future of Carers Bucks over the coming weeks. The team have no further information to share at this point, but all services continue and they are here to support you in your caring role.

Lastly, we look forward to you joining us to celebrate carers across the county at CareFest, 8–12 June 2026. A full timetable of events can be found here.

Notes on the procurement process and compliance

The tender has followed a formal process that is compliant with the Procurement Act 2023 regulation.   The Council published the opportunity on its eProcurement platform hosted by In-Tend for any interested supplier to view and respond to.  The Council completed the evaluation of the supplier responses it received and has identified the Most Advantageous Tender, against a pre-determined criteria that evaluated the Price and Quality of each supplier response.  The Council has published a Contract Award Notice on the national Find a Tender Service.”
