Hours: 15 hours per week

The Young Adult Carers Support Worker’s main task is to assess Young Adult Carers (YACs) needs and identify the level of support they need from our services or other services in the county.

The YAC Support Worker will either refer to our in house programme of one to one support, small targeted group work courses and social skills groups or they will refer and signpost to other appropriate support services.

About the Curiosity Club: Young Carers Curiosity Clubs are weekend activities for young carers (primarily those with additional needs) to learn about science in a way that is fun, participative and builds confidence and self-esteem.

Some of the main tasks:

  • Liaise with Young Carers Support Workers regarding the individual needs of the young carers referred into the Clubs.
  • Develop positive and appropriate relationships with the young carers attending the Club or activity.
  • Develop programs, plan activities and other opportunities that support the young carers’ social and personal development.
  • Provide activities which can support the growth of new friendships, skills and provide fun and respite from the young person’s caring role.

       

Closing date: Friday 28th February 2020

Hours: 18.5 hours per week

Salary: £10,500 – £11,250

  • Develop programs, plan activities and other opportunities that impact upon the young carers’ social and personal developmental needs.
  • Provide activities which can support growth of new friendships, new skills and provide fun and respite from the young person’s caring role.
