Carers Bucks has won a national award for Young Carers services at the Children & Young People Now Awards. The ceremony took place on Wednesday 21st November 2018 at The Hurlingham Club in Fulham.
The Young Carers Award was for our Same Chances programme which we run as part of our Young Adult Carers service. It allows 16 – 25 years old caring for a loved one have the same opportunities as their peers.
"We are so proud to be given this award and have our work recognised nationally. Young Adult Carers give up so much to look after the people they care for and it’s only right that we should support them."
Stephen Archibald
Chief Executive - Carers Bucks
"Winning this national award is a fantastic celebration of the hard work and dedication of Carers Bucks in developing a new service for 16 – 25 year olds in Buckinghamshire. At Carers Bucks, we believe that a young person with a caring responsibility has the same right to life choices as their peers. It is a great privilege to work with and support Young Adult Carers and their families at this transition point in life."
