We are delighted that Carers Bucks has been chosen to benefit from the Co-op Local Community Fund. At this time when there is huge competition for funds for the good causes promoted by community groups and charities we’re very grateful for this opportunity.

How will the funding help?

Money raised from the Co-op Local Community Fund will help Carers Bucks continue to fund a dedicated space for young carers to have fun allowing them to have a break from their caring role, as well as receive support for the Young Carers team.

"Our target is to raise £15,000 so we can continue to provide a dedicated space, the ‘Own Zone’, for young carers to get support, advice and guidance and as importantly, to have fun and be children again.  It’s a safe environment for young carers to talk about their issues and struggles such as ‘How do I help my mum when depressions makes her cry every day?’ or ‘Is my dad going to get better? What will happen if he doesn’t?’"

Carers Bucks’ Young Carers service supports young carers aged 6 – 18 years old in Buckinghamshire who are caring for a family member who could not manage without their support. Visit the Young Carers Bucks website to find out more information.

How it works

The Co-op is looking to support organisations that make a difference to their local communities including helping people to reach their potential by developing their skills, or promoting health and wellbeing. When members shop at Co-op, 1% of what they spend on selected branded products and services will go to help fund community projects.

If you are not a member and would like to support Carers Bucks, you can join at online at https://membership.coop.co.uk/causes/32075 or alternatively you can register at one of the following stores; Aylesbury Walton Court, Aylesbury Bedgrove and Tring and choose Carers Bucks as the charity you wish to support.

Once you are a member, you can use your Co-op card at any Co-op store in the UK and 1% of what you spend will go to Carers Bucks.
