Carers Bucks arranged for DJ Dan Blaze to host a music request show dedicated to carers on Wednesday 10th June from 7pm – 9pm. Carers sent in their song requests – and why that particular song is important to them – to Carers Bucks Music Request Show Facebook group. Thank you to everyone for listening to our Carers Bucks Music Request show and for the great song requests! Thank you also to DJ Dan Blaze for a brilliant show! You can listen to the show again here.

Carers Word Cloud

We asked carers to send us the one word that sums up what being a carer is for them.

We had an absolutely brilliant response, and the results are shown here in this amazing Word Cloud.

Creative Carers Group

During lockdown, the Creative Carers Group have been connecting online. Carers Bucks showcased some of the pieces which carers have written.

Carers Do All This and More…

The theme of this year’s Carers Week was ‘Make Caring Visible’ and with that in mind, Carers Bucks wanted to highlight the role of an unpaid carer and show how important it is to have services like Carers Bucks to support unpaid carers.

Carers support family and friends, who are ill, frail or disabled, in many ways; administering medication,  practical support, emotional support, personal care, financial help and physical help, all whilst trying to maintain their own lives.

Carers Week Competition on Facebook

Carers Bucks held a competition on Facebook whereby entrants could be in with a chance to win a £50 voucher if they answered three questions correctly. The competition was open to carers registered with Carers Bucks and the winner was selected at random from those who give three correct answers.

Thank you to everyone who entered and well done to the lucky winner!

What does being a young carer mean to you?

Our Young Carers Bucks and Young Carers Milton Keynes teams asked our young carers to sum up what being a young carer means to them & what they like about our young carers groups and these words are what the young carers came back with.
