Frequently Asked Questions

We mainly send out emails and texts to communicate with families about upcoming events and information. Please make sure you update us with your correct email address and mobile number.

Carers Bucks understands that each carer is impacted by their caring role differently. When we receive a referral, we visit young carers and their families to understand the impact of the caring role and tailor our support accordingly.

All our services are free to access for young carers registered with us, which can make them very popular. As a charity, we have a fantastic dedicated fundraising team who work hard to seek additional funding opportunities for these activities to remain accessible for all.

Once a young carer’s place has been confirmed, we request that Carers Bucks is notified at least 24 hours before the activity is due to take place if they can no longer make it. This allows us time to offer this opportunity to others.

If Carers Bucks is not notified that a young carer is unable to attend an activity on multiple occasions, we will have to review whether the young carer will be invited to future activities.

Our activities are only for young carers registered with us. We understand it can be daunting to attend an activity where you don’t know anyone, but our friendly support workers are there to make you feel comfortable and introduce you to other young carers.

If you are attending an event with another registered young carer, please make sure you both have a confirmed space on your chosen activity.

We tailor the support we offer to our young carers. Have a look at the services we offer to see how we can support young carers further.
