How Does It Work?

How Does It Work?

A referral is made into the Young Carers service by a professional that is supporting you or your family. Occasionally we accept self-referrals into our service if you are not able to get a professional referral.

The referral is then processed and allocated to a support worker who supports young carers in your area.

Your designated support worker will call you to book in an assessment to meet you and your family in person.

When the support worker visits you, they will tell you about our services and ask you some questions about your caring role.

After your assessment, as a team we discuss the best level of support we can provide to you.

A welcome postcard will be sent to you to notify you that you are now registered with Young Carers Bucks.

We would like to remind families that Young Carers Bucks is not part of Social Care and that families do not have to register with us if they do not wish to.
